Nancy Goodnight is the mother of four teenage daughters. Clearly, she started training for marathons to get away from her children.
They must be really bad because now she’s taken up triathlons.
As Special Events Coordinator for Scott & White’s Marrow Donor Program, Nancy is responsible for every aspect of the Miracle Match Marathon. So, if you have a problem see Nancy. She’s the short chick with blond hair. We’ll help you find her.
Seriously, Nancy is dedicated to spreading her love of running and fitness throughout the community. Her Miracle Match KIDS Marathon Program is growing by leaps and bounds and has been instrumental in bringing awareness to the issue of childhood obesity throughout Central Texas.
She is passionate about the Be the Match Registry and has seen firsthand how this treatment can save lives.
Her running resume includes:
119 Marathons (6 Boston, 4/5 World Majors)
A bunch of Half Ironmans
Nancy is a Marathon Maniac and a member of the 50-State Club with 2 states to go…

Race Administrator/Registration Chair
Debbie came to Scott & White in 1975 after obtaining a degree in Microbiology from Texas Tech University. Prior to coming to the Marrow Donor Program, she was a technologist in the Scott & White Tissue Culture Laboratory and later, the supervisor of the Immunology Laboratory.Debbie was named coordinator of the Marrow Donor Program when Scott & White became a donor center for the National Marrow Donor Program in 1994 and is now the program manager.
In 2003, Debbie was the first race director for the newly born Miracle Match Marathon, and continued as such for several years while the race grew like a wildfire… Passionate about her donors, she truly understands the cause for the event and works tirelessly to manage registrations, orders, bills, and to keep the rest of us in line!!!
Running MMM also turned her into a Runner! Debbie is a proud Half Marathoner!!
Wade is the man responsible for keeping you from getting lost… No one marks a course better. A Waco Firefighter Lt. for 15 years and a Miracle Match MVP for all 12 years – there would be no race without him!!
Michael keeps you safe, so be sure and meet him to say thanks!! A McLennan County Sheriff’s Deputy, Michael has been with MMM for the past 6 years. Most races pay ridiculous fees for their traffic control. Michael coordinates with the very philanthropic Sheriff’s Association so that your charitable dollar goes to Be the Match Marrow Donor Program rather than to overhead costs!
New to the MMM team this year, David Dover has a heart of pure gold…..Not yet a runner (we emphasize YET), he is truly a fitness success story and a reminder you can recreate yourself at any age. In the Fall of 2012 at 324 lbs, he started walking, dropping 25lbs. Then he got a bike and inches began to go missing… he went from a 5x to a 2x, 324 lbs to 261 lbs, heart rate 80 to 58. Married for 26 yrs with 3 beautiful girls, David continues on his fitness journey. We are blessed to have him join us!!
Rhiannon is an avid ultra-marathon runner – training for her first 100K!!-, a single mother of 8 year old Karson, and a high school nurse. She has grown our kids program so that last year we had 850 kids cross the finish line!! She is the most enthusiastic, positive person on our team. The Miracle Match Cheerleader!

Anal retentive and driven to perfection… isn’t that what you want in a Registration Chair? Truly the best at what she does, Cheri Hicks will make sure you have your bib, your shirt size, as well as your good times – all on schedule. An avid runner and mother of two, Cheri volunteers for numerous races and on several athletic boards; she is a critical component of the Miracle Match team .
No matter how hard you try, you cannot ruffle her feathers. And trust me… we have tried.
Ever wonder what we do with that question we ask on your registration – “What you should know about me?” This man reads every single one of them. Eric Romanov, The Czar of Race Announcing, will bring you across that finish line like none other. A devoted husband and father of two daughters who are also out there volunteering at Miracle Match, Erik has run countless marathons and ultras as well as 5 full Ironmans. He is also a veteran, having served our country in the United States Air Force. Take out those headphones and listen to what Erik says to you as you cross our bridge
Wife, mother and grandmother of 9, Cissy Garretson gets the best job of all – greeting you at the finish line! . She started running in 2009, completing her first half marathon was in 2010, my first full marathon was in 2011. She has since completed 11 marathons and more than 20 half marathons. In her own words,”I started volunteering for MMM in 2012, I am so blessed to be part of a wonderful cause and It is very exciting to be on the giving end of a race as opposed to the receiving end. My goal is to see every participant receive their medal with a smile on their face and happy with their race experience.” Now isn’t that the person you can’t wait to meet?
